Honouring Mom

We make new resolutions for a more active thought to our dear mothers. By words, gifts, acts of affection, and in every way possible, give her pleasure, and make her heart glad everyday.

If absent from home, call or write her often. And if deceased, bring carnations to her gravesite, also tell another mother a few of her noble good qualities and how you love her.
To all the mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

1st Annual Nigerian Canadian Reunion (Toronto 2007)

Right now Canada (and the rest of the world's) attention is centered on this cross-borders event being planned for June 15th - 16th 2007 in Toronto. We invite you to participate in the Nigerian Canadian Reunion Weekend.

Nigerians in diaspora continue to offer and promote the rich diversified culture in Canada by encouraging entertainment activities, rebuilding the lost identity, bridging the gap, and educating Nigerian Canadians on socio cultural issues we face in our community.

The 1st Annual Nigerian Canadian Reunion will mark the courageous legacy that have been set by concerned Nigerian Canadians who felt the need for change. The weekend event will honour Nigerian artists, entreprenueurs, and people making a difference within the community.

The event will include a red carpet affair, expo fair, keynote presentations, on-stage perfomances, and a dinner afterparty.

Not only will the The 1st Annual Nigerian Canadian Reunion Event provide an opportunity for new immigrants and those who have been living in Canada for a long time to be reunited, it will serve as a venue to establish new networks.

We promise to keep you updated on this exciting event.

The 2007 Juno Awards

The Junos are usually presented to Canadian Musical artists and bands. Winners are chosen by members of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences or, depending on the award, a panel of experts or actual record sales. New members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame are also inducted as part of the awards ceremony.

This year's show was hosted by pop artist Nelly Furtado in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and we think she did a good job. Furtado also dominated the show by winning five Junos. "I just hand it to all the Canadian artists. This is for everybody -- old, new, up and coming, the legends," Furtado said as she accepted the trophy for fan choice. "I'm just happy to be here and humbled."

Toronto-based band Billy Talent was the only other multiple winner, taking trophies for group of the year and rock album of the year.

Shockingly, K-OS didn't win even though he was nominated five times.
